With improved research findings, it has been proven that a sedentary lifestyle increases the risk factors considerably for early death. Sitting idly for more than eight hours per day reduces the lifespan significantly. Sitting idly was found to correlate directly with increased mortality. However, an hour of physical activity can bring about a dramatic change to counterbalance this potential threat. On sitting for more than five hours in a day, it increases the risk for mortality by 40 percent. However, effects of prolonged sitting can be alleviated by indulging in physical activity for more than an hour. Make sure to pull in some time for a brisk exercise apart from your regular work. Exercise, however, does not mean sweating your lungs out in the gym. An exercise could be as simple as taking a dog for a walk. Taking the stairs instead of an elevator and reaching the nearest mile by a walk goes a long way in adding hours to physical activity.

Research have also found that sitting in front of the television for prolonged hours accompanied by snacking results in irreversible health damage. It is hence enforced to avoid television viewing continuously for more than two hours a day. Exercising an hour, a day in split intervals also offer immense health benefits. The returns of a structured exercise regime continue to be higher. Playing your favorite sport for an hour can be an interesting pastime and a good exercise. Begin with a 30 minutes’ exercise schedule and then aim higher. The only idea in the mind should be to get up and move for a healthy living.

With a growing number of diseases and disorders in the world, the Alzheimer’s is one that tops the chart in terms of its incidence in the elderly population. The incredibly powerful brain sometimes performs weird and inefficient. The brain also has bugs and issues which remain the hidden mystery.

Several neuroscientific studies reveal many interesting shortcomings of the brain. The complex brain and the nervous system can overpower any organ of its choice. The feedback cycles and hormones that regulate the food intake in the stomach is a highly devoted system. The digestive system assesses food consumption and signals to stop at the right time, however when the brain comes into play it decides something else. It adds on to the dessert factor when you are already full with the main course. The brain thus interferes with the functioning of other vital organ systems in the weirdest manner possible.

The brain possesses a flexible technique to store and erase memories and information, unlike computers which have a systematized logical setup to store data. The brain utilizes varied techniques to stock and retrieves information on a daily basis. Sometimes it turns out to be less reliable in the most demanding situation. It constantly edits memories which pose difficulties during a recall. A short term memory is said to possess a very short capacity and it gets lost easier when a long term one is encountered. The brain with its episodic memory and a complex assortment of processes require enormous awareness to handle.
